Mr. Man is learning to make pasta.
A little flour, a little egg and a little supervision from Andrew.
And a lot of mixing.
Getting tired.
Andrew to the rescue.
Smiles again. And yes, it was delish!

Valentines
I know Valentine's day has passed, but I thought I'd show you what the kids gave out for Valentine's Day.
They were a big hit.
These Valentines were fun and easy to make. We saw the idea here.
First, have your child hold out their fist and snap a great pic.
Then we added our Valentine message. You could use any photo editing program you have, or go to http://www.picnik.com/ like we did. It's fun and easy to use.
The Little Miss designed her own.
And I designed Mr. Man's
Next, print off your photos. Poke a hole (we used a nail) at the top and bottom of the fist and insert lollipop. C'est tout fini!

And a little love in the dinning room...

Hearts
Being a Valentine baby, we always try to include something heart-ish in the not-so-little girl's loot bags. This year we included heart-shaped bubble bath and these homemade lovelies filled with cinnamon hearts.
Drawing from inspiration we saw here, we made our own version.
First, birthday girl drew hearts on wax paper. She just drew each heart by hand, but you could print off a heart pattern from the computer or use a cookie cutter.
Then we sewed them using a sewing machine. We didn't worry about following the line exactly.
We trimmed the edges and then birthday girl filled the hearts while I sewed them shut. We made the hearts using a double layer of wax paper. The original hearts that we saw were made with a single layer of wax paper. We found that the other items in the loot bag quickly poked a hole in the hearts. We had no trouble with the cinnamon hearts escaping when we used a doubled the wax paper.

Birthday
Just recently, we celebrated a sweet, not-so-little girl's birthday. We had fun getting ready for her big day.
Loot Bags
Piles of tulle, metres of ribbon, stacks of buttons and tags were turned into loot bags. We stitched together tulle, added a button to secure the ribbon and filled them with pretty things.
The birthday girl designed an unique tag for each guest.
The finished product:
