Daffodils
Yellow is my favourite colour. Always has been, always will be. It so bright and cheery even on a cloudy day like today. Thanks Mom for the daffodils. They really do brighten my day!

One Man's Junk is This Girl's Treasure
A few weeks ago, I climbed to the very top of my dad's workshop and came across a few treasures. I know most people would call it junk, but I see something much different. I see a bin for blankets, a bed for sneakers, an organized office, a display for Little Miss' sculptures, shelf brackets for Mr. Man's room, planters and maybe a few more things. What do you see?

I Don't Have a Green Thumb
I don't have a green thumb. Actually, it's worse than that. I'm a plant killer. I can keep a plant alive if it's outside in the ground. Well, sometimes. But inside or in a pot, well, the plant is doomed. It seems that everywhere I turn these days, I spot a terrarium or two or twenty. Even with no green thumb, I thought it would be fun if the kidlywinks and I gave it a go.
We assembled all the materials: containers from the attic and thrift store, plants from the nursery, charcoal from the pet store and rocks from the driveway. For more detailed instructions, go here.
Mr. Man chose one small plant and a couple of dinosaurs to rule the terrain. I love the bright pop of orange. It brings a smile to my face.
Little Miss chose a couple of plants, one being pink of course. So her. A couple of handmade clay guinea pigs have since been added. Sweet. Just like Little Miss.
The house already feels more alive. I'm hoping that we can keep it that way!
I'm participating in the Planty Party over at the Nesting Place. The Nester has compiled quite the few lovely terrariums if you want to see a bunch in one place. They seem quite lovely, eh?

Continue to Stand
This week Little Miss had the opportunity to meet Spencer West. It was quite an exciting time for her.
Spencer is quite the inspiring person. You can read more about him here.
He was recently in Owl magazine. He is getting ready to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and is encouraging people to "Redefine Possible". You can read about it here.
He graciously signed Little Miss' magazine.

Embroidery, Hoop Art and a Panda
I have a thing for hoop art and embroidering right now. I can't help it. I like them. Remember these little cuties? Sweet little eggs embroidered on silk for my little loves. The eggs were fun to stitch. It's been a long time since I've done any sort of hand stitching. I used to cross stitch, but that was years ago. I can't quite get back into the grove of cross stitching, but embroidering seems to be one of my faves right now. Do you do any hand stitching?
I've also been working on another little project which I share once it's done. Almost there. But in the meantime, I thought I'd share this simple little project. It was quick and easy. Little Miss is happy. All is good.
Little Miss loves pandas. Dogs are her first love, but pandas do come in a close second. I found this sweet little hankie in a bag of craft items at a thrift store. Of course it came home with me.
One small vintage hoop later and voila! Hoop art for Little Miss. Stitching is fun, but sometimes finding something already embroidered is just as good if not better.

Baby Max
This little cutie, otherwise known as Baby Max, was dedicated on Sunday. Baby Max belongs to my brother and his wife.
And a little gift to commemorate the occasion.
Not a typical dedication gift, I realize, but fun. The kids wanted to keep the hammer. It's soft and spongy. And fun. Besides, growing up in this family, he'll learn soon enough how to use a hammer.
Praying that God will bless Max and keep him in His care. May Max be a blessing to his parents and a light to the world.

Little Miss
Little Miss loves art. Loves. She's been taking art lessons for several years now. It's the highlight of her week.
Her latest creation is this t-shirt which she designed and printed. Art. Purple. Sparkles. It doesn't get much better than this for an 11 year-old girl.
I love the lettering that she did. All those hours doodling and making up fonts has its rewards.

Easiest Flower Arrangement Ever
Sometimes you just need a little bit of colour arranged in a fun way to make you smile.
Are you ready for the easiest flower arrangement ever?
What you need:
5 jars - I used vintage milk jugs, but mason jars or jars from the recycle bin would be great
1 box - I used a vintage amo box (thanks Dad!) but any rectangular box or basket would work
1 bouquet of colourful flowers - thanks Dianne!
What you do:
Put jars in box. Fill with water. Arrange flowers in rainbow order. That's it. C'est tout fini.

Monday, Monday
Today I am enjoying all the sunshine that is streaming through the window as I clean out the closet in the dining room and plan for Easter (it's THIS weekend - how did that happen?) before heading to work for a couple of hours.
Sneakers is enjoying the sunshine too. Silly little puppy. All eight pounds of furriness
The happy window. Terrible picture, I know, but the kidlywinks had fun drawing spring pictures. It makes me smile every time I walk by.
Enjoy your Monday!
